Bites Nearby: Anny's Fine Burger

At last, a gourmet burger place in Santee that tastes like it's from the backyard.

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Santee Patch picks a great restaurant, either in town or nearby, that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

Overview: When you enter you are instantly intimidated by the famous "Monster Burger" taking up a third of the menu and standing about three feet tall! Known for it's large selection and whacky, but oh so delicious, burger toppings, Anny's has made a name for itself in the six months it's been open.

Decor:  The walls are painted bright orange, nostalgic of , with Chinese style ball lanterns hanging to give the place a modern flair. Anny's has a festive atmosphere with large pictures of her most delicious and daunting burger creations. Anny's motto-"When you order, we start cooking."

Entrees: The list of options seems endless, offering almost every style of burger you could imagine, all with at least one 1/2 pound patty that is charbroiled to perfection. The charbroil technique really gives the burger that backyard BBQ flavor that sends you back to childhood at the neighbor's pool eating burgers off the grill and sipping a cold Coke.
