An anonymous source close to Phil's BBQ has confirmed the intentions of the restaurant to at the old .
The source, which is close to the Santee business community and representatives of the restaurant, said that managers have already been hired and are in the training process, and also said that the restaurant is shooting to be open in six months.
A truck belonging to Phil's BBQ Restaurant was spotted parked at Trolley Square a couple weeks ago.
Phil's BBQ has yet to announce the opening through official channels, but the source said they should publicly announce soon. It was also suggested that Phil's BBQ chose a Santee spot over El Cajon. This would be the third location in San Diego County.
Rumors that the restaurant was searching for a location in the Santee area have floated around town for months, with Phil's representatives saying that their phone lines have been lighting up with calls from the public asking about the new location.
Their website explains the Phil's BBQ style best:
