Santee Forecast: Rain Expected to Return This Week

The National Weather Service is forecasting a wet Wednesday, but the skies should clear by the weekend.

The overcast skies over Santee are expected to linger for most of the week, and more wet weather is on the way.

The National Weather Service predicts that rain will move in midweek, with a 100 percent chance of precipitation on Wednesday night. Heavy rain and even lightning are possible.

The good news is that the clouds and showers are expected to move on by the weekend, with sunny skies and pleasant temperatures set for Saturday and Sunday, except for some patchy fog in the mornings.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Wednesday: Rain likely, mainly after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Wednesday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 53. South wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Thursday: Showers likely before 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 65. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 69.

Friday Night: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 51.

Saturday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 78.

Saturday Night: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 51.

Sunday: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 77.

Sunday Night: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 50.
