Successful Santee Fundraiser for Family Hit by Suspected DUI Wrong Way Driver

A fundraiser at the Santee Chilis restaurant for the Cunningham family drew hundreds.

A fundraiser at the Santee Chili's restuarant on Tuesday drew hundreds in support of the Cunningham family, devestated by a suspected DUI wrong way crash that sent four family members to the hospital.

A 30-year-old Santee man suspected of drunken driving drove the wrong way on state Route 52 and caused the head-on crash, killing himself and sending the Cunninghams to area hospitals -- all four with major injuries. Two of the siblings were recently released from Rady's Children Hospital, the mother is in rehab and the eldest, Taylor, is still in intensive care, according to a report by 10 News.

Taylor currently holds the title of Miss San Diego's Outstanding Teen. The fundraiser was organized by the Miss San Diego Cities Pageant in conjunction with the Miss San Diego Pageant and Scholarship Association.
