My name is Steven Bartholow and I'm the editor of Santee Patch, a new source of community news and information focused solely on Santee, a city that has gone too long without a devoted news source.

I've spent the last two months getting close with Santee's businesses and City Hall, meeting great people from the city's movers-and-shaker to the kid watching the skate park, spending time at the amazing parks in town, and some of the friendliest coffee shops I've ever experienced. I am ready to tell this town's real story.

Though we're different from your traditional print newspaper, we can offer the same and more.

This site will feature daily reports on sports, students, businesses, crime, government, arts, events and the history and future of Santee. Where is this town going? Santee Patch plans on telling you as it happens.

If you've been looking for a rundown on the city council meeting or high school football game, reviews of your favorite restaurants or profiles of anyone who deserves a voice, we'll have it. And, if we're not covering what you want, tell us.

We have local columnists writing about everything from family to politics, and offer many types of community involvement. All of our content is interactive, so check out and add to our calendar of events and announcements, post a comment on a story or upload your own photos and media.

Patch also offers an extensive listing of businesses and community resources. If you're a business owner, you can claim your listing so you can make changes or add photos.

We're big on social media, updating you through Twitter and Facebook, it's a good way to keep track of Santee happenings.
