Santee's Boll Weevil 53 Claims Most Beer Options in East County

A grand opening ribbon cutting was held at the new Boll Weevil 53 in Santee Monday morning with members of the Santee Chamber of Commerce, Councilmember John Minto and other local notables in attendance.
The new restaurant, which opened in March, is a bit different from the usual Boll Weevil burger joint, with a claim as the restaurant with the most beer options in all of East County. The bar sports 53 different bottled and draft beers, with more than 20 local microbrews on tap, including Santee's own Manzanita Brewing Company. And, this location has a more modern feel than the other five location in the county.
This restaurant is the return of Boll Weevil to Santee. The old Boll Weevil existed a few blocks west of the current location and closed in the mid 2000s.
