Russel Waterman Crane Jr., One-Time President of Santee Rotary Club, Dies at 92

Russel Waterman Crane Jr. passed away at his Point Loma home August 6, at age 92, according to the Union Tribune.

He was a member of the Santee chapter of and served as president of the organization for a time.

Born on a ranch near Cody, WY, Russel and his family came to San Diego in 1929. In 1939 he graduated from Point Loma High, went on to graduate from agricultural engineering at the University of Arizona and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. 

Russell was a member of the U.S. Army, and worked with many prominent local companies, including the Ed Fletcher Company, San Diego and El Cajon Chamber of Commerce, and SDG&E.

A memorial will be held at the Point Loma Presbyterian Church, 2128 Chatsworth Blvd., San Diego, CA 92106, Aug. 13 at 11 a.m.
