Simeon Edward Johnston Jr., Santee Resident for 51 Years, Dies at 84
The WWII veteran was a resident long before Santee was a city.
Longtime Santee resident Simeon Edward Johnston Jr. passed away January 19 at age 84, according to UT San Diego.
Edward was born in Marion, IN in 1928 and married Roberta Hickman in 1951. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the US Navy as an Aviation Aerographer Mate.
He lived in Santee for 51 years and worked as a steamfitter/pipefitter for over 50 years as part of the Plumber & Pipefitter Union Local 230. Lifelong hobbies included membership in the Jeffersonville Masonic Lodge, fishing, camping and more.
