A sweep by the San Diego Sheriff's Department's Court Services Bureau-Field Division on Friday picked up eight suspects with outstanding driving under the influence and domestic violence related warrants in Santee and other areas of East County.
With the assistance of the San Diego County Probation Department officers fanned out across Santee, and the unincorporated areas of El Cajon, Lakeside, Alpine and Pine Valley.
A total of 14 misdemeanor warrants were cleared.
This warrant sweep was funded, in part, by the Sheriff's Warrant System Automation Trust Fund. The trust fund is made up of assessment fees collected from people who have violated a written promise to appear in court or otherwise fail to comply with a court order.
The San Diego Sheriff's Department said that people with outstanding warrants are encouraged to turn themselves in Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at any of the Sheriff's Court Facilities.
