Help ID Couple Who Stole Package From Santee Doorstep

The incident was recorded Friday afternoon on Abbeyfield Road, in the Carlton Oaks area.

Two people were caught on tape Friday taking a recently delivered package from the doorstep of a home in Santee.

The incident was recorded Friday afternoon on Abbeyfield Road, in the Carlton Oaks area. The front of the home was watched by three surveillance cameras that filmed a caucasian male and female from the same vehicle separately walk up to the doorstep and take one package. The cameras caught a shot of the car, which looks like a silver hatchback, similar to a Hyundai Accent. See video here.

The victim, April Merritt, described the theft:

"The mailman dropped off the stuff about 2:45 p.m. and the couple picked them up about 15 mins later. Maybe they were watching the mailman? Also, the mailman told us of problems like this in the houses south of our neighborhood and that he will no longer leave packages at people’s front door. I’ve only talked to a few neighbors and they haven’t had any problems..."

The incident was reported to the post office and Sheriff's Department, according to Merritt.

If you recognize the culprits and would like to help solve the case, call the Sheriff's Department at (619) 956-4000.

IT ISN'T ME.....SO STOP CALLING ME AND TELLING ME IT IS! Good grief, my friends sure don't think very highly of me. Plus my hair isn't blonde anymore but hey thanks for the wake-up call regarding my weight. I'm going on a diet. :(

Update: http://goo.gl/cIUF7b Sheriff's Dept. says it's part of a series of similar thefts in the area. See video of the interview with the homeowners.

I'm expecting a delivery today and wrote a note to USPS to not leave the package, I'll pick it up. It has happened to me twice and takes time to file a claim, etc.

A similar incident happened that was also caught on camera a few days later in Eucalyptus Hills in Lakeside CA. A female was also caught on camera messing with mail. Why isn't the Patch posting this video also, too help identify this woman and stop all these kinds of crime, all together... thank you.
