Investigation Continues in SDSU Death, Memorial Held

Santee resident and SDSU student Barzeen Barzanji is laid to rest, but questions still remain about his death.

A memorial was held Monday night for Barzeen Barzanji, the San Diego State University fraternity president and at a fraternity house on the outskirts of the campus.

The memorial, held at El Cajon's Kurdish Community Islamic Center of Greater San Diego, followed his burial and funeral on Sunday, according to UT San Diego.

Toxicology test results are still pending for the 20-year-old, and the County Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the cause of death.

Barzanji, a 2009 graduate of , was discovered unresponsive in a bed at the Phi Kappa Theta house. He was president of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity on campus.
