Man Fatally Struck by Truck While Bicycling in Santee
A 48-year-old El Cajon man was hit at the intersection of Vomac Road and Mast Boulevard Thursday morning.
A 48-year-old El Cajon man was fatally struck by a pickup truck while bicycling in Santee, authorities said Friday.
Erik E. Gilbert was hit in the intersection of Vomac Road and Mast Boulevard about 5:20 a.m. Thursday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
Fire personnel, who were called along with sheriff's deputies following the crash, found Gilbert with head injuries.

He was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he died about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, the Medical Examiner's Office reported.
