Sheriff Blotter: Burglary on Peaceful Court

The following information was provided by the Santee Sheriff's Department and CrimeMapping.com for Dec. 12 through Dec. 18 The defendants have not been convicted of a crime.

Major Incidents

• A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault on Via Anita on Dec. 17, according to a report at the of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

The suspect, Sergio Dyda, allegedly assaulted a 27-year-old male victim with a weapon described as a "club, blackjack or brass knuckles."

The victim sustained a possible internal injury during the assault, which allegedly occurred shortly before midnight. Dyda was booked into County Jail in downtown San Diego.

• The Web Service Company on Olive Lane was reported burglarized on Dec. 17.

The company reported the loss of $100 currency in the theft, which was discovered around 8:30 a.m. No suspect information was listed.

• A vehicle was burglarized on Peaceful Court early Sunday.

The victim reported the loss of communications equipment and about $200 damage to a car window around 4:30 a.m. No suspect information was listed

• A vehicle reported stolen was recovered on Mission Gorge Road early Monday.

The four-door sedan , valued at $1,000, was reported stolen by a 20-year-old victim. It was recovered shortly after 1 a.m. No suspect information was listed.

• A stolen vehicle was recovered on Cuaymaca Street Dec. 16. The vehicle, allegedly taken from a 70-year-old man, was retrieved without incident shortly before 4 p.m.

The four-door vehicle was valued at $10,000.

• A 46-year-old victim reported a case of vandalism on Prospect Avenue on Dec. 15.

The unspecified vandalism was reported shortly after 4 p.m. The victim estimated four separate instances of damage at a total cost of $650. No suspect information was listed.

• Authorities are investigating a case of forgery involving the Vanguard Truck Center on Mission Gorge Road.

The case was reported on the morning of Dec. 14, but the victims believe the thefts of more than $4,000 occurred between June 17 and Oct. 26.

No suspect information was listed.

• A 35-year-old woman was cited on Cuyamaca Street on Dec. 14.

The suspect was identified as Karla Pacheco De Corona, who was cited on suspicion of misdemeanor shoplifting shortly before 3 p.m.

Authorities recovered miscellaneous clothing in the case valued at less than $100.

• Two suspects were cited on suspicion of shoplifting at the on Town Center Parkway on Dec. 14.

Authorities recovered $241.00 worth of property after a store employee placed the suspects under citizen's arrest.

The suspects were identified as Jerry Grinston, 30, and Stacey Ross-Grinston, 29.

Both were released after the incident, reported at 5:42 p.m.

• Deputies responded to a ringing alarm at a business on Woodside avenue (exact address not included in report) Dec. 15.

Dion & Sons reported the loss of $500 worth of miscellaneous merchandise following the alarm, which was detected at 12:30 a.m.
