Two-Alarm Fire Guts Lakeside Home

It took crews about a half-hour to extinguish the intense flames.

A two-alarm fire gutted a Lakeside home Tuesday.

The non-injury blaze in the 11600 block of Lakeside Avenue was reported shortly before 9 a.m., and it took crews about a half-hour to extinguish the intense flames, according to a Heartland Fire & Rescue dispatcher.

The Sheriff's Department's Bomb/Arson Unit was called in to determine the cause of the non-injury blaze, Lakeside Division Chief Jim Kirkpatrick told reporters. The investigative team typically responds to significant fires in communities that contract with the county law enforcement agency.
