Video: State Parks Dept. Hoarding Cash, 'Are You Kidding Me!'

Assemblyman Brian Jones continues with his "Are You Kidding Me!" video series, explaining the frustrations of Sacramento to his constituents.

The office of Santee's State  (R-77) recently began filming and releasing one-minute online videos of the representative speaking about specific topics dealt with (or not) in Sacramento that drive him crazy.

In this video, Assemblyman Jones talks about a recent California Parks Department accounting scandal that includes "a hidden $54-million surplus," while advocating for closing 70 state parks, and the need for California to audit all Special Funds in the state for similar discrepancies.

The LA Times explains it best:

"The review, to be conducted by the state auditor, will examine a hidden $54-million surplus discovered in parks accounts last month and an unauthorized program allowing employees to trade in unused vacation time for more than $271,000 in cash."

"Californians deserve to know how all state agencies are spending their tax dollars," said Jones in the video.
