NEW BUSINESS

• Tax and location agreement between City of Santee and HD Supply Facilities Maintenance- The council will consider an agreement between the city and HD Supply to expand the company's location in Santee and make Santee the permanent point of sale for the company. The deal would give a major boost to the sales tax revenue for the city, and once Santee's new sales tax revenue hits $500,000, the city would return 50 percent of the company's sales tax back to HD Supply (if the city gets $600,000 in new sales tax revenue from HD Supply, it would return $300,000 to the company). This deal would last for 20 years.

• FIGTREE Property Assessed Clean Energy Financing- The city has an option to take part in a program that aims to make it easier for property owners to put energy or water efficient systems into use without the burden of upfront costs.

Van Collinsworth, Executive Director of Preserve Wild Santee and renewable energy advocate, explained it like this: "Approval by the city council will provide city residents and businesses with access to low interest funds for energy upgrades that are linked to the property rather than personal loan. There is no cost to the city, but Santee must authorize participation in this program for our citizens to have eligibility."
