The Varsity Softball City Championship between West Hills and Santana High Schools took place March 14 and Santana went home the victor! The Council will present the perpetual trophy to the winning team.

• The council will discuss and vote on a resolution "opposing the siting of the Quail Brush Power Plant in a visually prominent location proximate to Santee's western gateway."

If voted in by the council, the resolution would show the to the proposed project based on the city's General Plan Objectives, policies that seek to "preserve and protect the SR-52 gateway and it's panoramic views, to preserve and protect the natural amenities within , and to ensure that land use incompatibilities" are fully disclosed, analyzed and mitigated. Three specific city policies are cited to defend this position.

• Staff recommends the removal of stop signs at the intersection of Graves Avenue and Copper Ridge Road, which they say will improve the traffic flow without compromising safety (see data and diagrams in attached agenda).
