The Feb. 23 begins Wed., Feb. 23, 2011:

Invocation: Rabbi Leonard Rosenthal, Tifereth Israel Synagogue, 6660 Cowles Mountain Boulevard.

Presentation: A brief ceremony will be held outside of City Hall to dedicate the newest addition to the city's firefighting force, a 2010 Pierce Arrow XT engine.

Proclamation: Calvin Smith has spent 16 years working with AYSO soccer in Santee as a coach, referee and is now retiring as commissioner.

Public Hearings:

• For a second time, the Council is asking for public comments and suggestions to "assess and prioritize community development and ... and to solicit proposals for Community Development Block Grant."

This will be the final public hearing on the subject.

City Council Items and Reports:

• John Minto is bringing two two topics to the table: the City's "temporary sign" and "campaign finance" ordinances. No further information is available.
