In June 2009, were approved on a trial basis, and that trial is now over. The off-leash areas at three city parks at the , including two fenced-in dog parks.
Over the weekend, the City released more details about construction of fenced-in areas and how long the process should take.
The City’s public works staff will construct the leash-free zone at , with construction expected to begin soon, considering possible delays by winter storms, according to the City's website.
The City reports that the fenced-in dog area at will take slightly longer to complete because it will be more costly, and requires a public bid process, which should be rolling by mid-March.
At , leash-free dog time will continue to be allowed in the center grass area from dawn until 9 a.m. on weekdays.
Off-leash activity will be allowed in the fenced-in areas at Woodglen Vista and Mast parks from dawn to dusk.
