Quail Brush: Last Chance to Submit Letters to Planning Commission for June 28 Meeting

If you want the San Diego Planning Commission to see your written input on the rezoning of land near Mission Trails from open space to industrial for a power plant, Tuesday's the last chance.

Tuesday, June 19 is the deadline for submitting letters or emails to be considered for the upcoming , which will deal with the issue of rezoning the proposed site of the Quail Brush Power Plant.

At the (9 a.m.) the Commission will decide whether to investigate if the plant can be located where it is planned, in the , which would require rezoning the site from open space to industrial.

Emails can be sent to planningcommission@sandiego.gov.

The deadline allows for materials to be included in Commissioners' packets of information, so they can ingest the comments.

It has also been implied that no letters submitted prior to the April 26 Planning Commission meeting will be included in the new Commissioner packets.

According to the Stop the Santee Power Plant organization, a supporter thought to contact the San Diego Planning Commission to inquire about the status of letters that had been submitted prior to the second :

I just spoke to a Planning Commission staff member.  I was inquiring whether a letter I sent to the Commission prior to the April 26 meeting needed to be re-sent for the June 28 meeting.  The answer is "Yes".  Please be advised of this information. The deadline for the Commission to receive communication for the June 28 meeting is Tuesday, June 19.
