Business Roundtable Hosted by Assemblymember Brian Jones

WHO:             California State Assembly Member Brian W. Jones, representative of the 77th Assembly District, East County Economic Development Council, Rick Urban of QCMI, and other East County Manufacturing Business Leaders. of Lakeside will be sponsoring breakfast.

WHAT:          A breakfast roundtable dedicated to collecting input from the business community regarding legislation, regulation, and other relevant policies. Jones will hold a press conference following the event. Following the press conference, media is invited to get B Roll and a tour of the facility. The press conference will take place at 10:30 AM.

WHEN:          Wednesday, November 9, 2011, Roundtable beginning at 8:30 AM, press is invited, Press Conference will begin at 10:30AM.

WHY:               California has an embarrassing 12 percent unemployment rate, which translates into over 2 million Californians out of work.  No longer regarded as a leader and innovator in job creation and economic growth, California is losing jobs to states with friendlier business climates.  The legislative, regulatory and legal climate hinders and inhibits growth and opportunity, and virtually ensures that California will lag far behind the rest of the nation in rebounding from the current economic recession.

The Roundtable will allow will allow members of the business community to discuss specific challenges facing business growth in the San Diego region.  Assemblyman Jones will give a legislative update on bills recently signed by Governor and will seek input from roundtable participants on the potential impacts to the state and region.  The forum will provide a firsthand opportunity to investigate solutions that will make positive changes in our state.
