Local Schools Compete in Engineering Challenge

Chevron and Project Lead the Way, a nonprofit that exposes middle and high school students to engineering, will host the California finals of the Engineering Design Challenge. Students who have taken an Introduction to Engineering Design course were invited to compete at regional competitions. The top three teams from each regional were invited to compete at the finals.

Using 3-D modeling software, teams will work to solve design challenges. Teams don’t receive their task until the morning of the competition. Each phase is judged and teams present their concepts to professional engineers.

La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad will be competing.
