Photos: First Wolf Pack Swim Meet at New Pool vs. Granite Hills

The meet didn't go in favor of the Wolf Pack, but the new facility works like a charm.

The water was churning with anticipation as swim team held it's first home meet at the on Friday.

The Wolf Pack looked excited, as did their long-time coach, Marsha Van Norman, as they faced off against Granite Hills in a pool . The diving teams flew with agility off the shiny new diving board.

They used to have to hold their meets at , after the Sultans held their own. But, no longer.

A swim team that had 35 athletes just years ago has now swelled to 85, and the coach is expecting more to join with the new pool on campus.

The score ended up not in favor of the Wolf Pack. However, some swimmers swam their best times, qualifying for CIF, said Van Norman. All three relays on the boys team and all three relays on the girls team have also qualified for CIF.

"Our swimmers are looking good coming down the stretch to the end of our season," said Van Norman.

This Friday the Wolf Pack swims another home meet against Steele Canyon.
