Santee Schools Score High on the California High School Exit Exam

Santana and West Hills outscore most other GUHSD schools.

Results of the March 2012 administration of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE), released earlier in the month, show that Santee schools out performed most other schools.

and scored in the top three GUHSD schools for each half of the exam.

90.5 percent of Santana High test-takers passed the English exam, .4 percent more than last year, and the third best passing rate in GUHSD; and 94.6 percent passed the Math exam, the best passing rate in the district.

92.3 percent of West Hills High test-takers passed the English exam, .2 percent more than last year and the best passing rate in GUHSD; and 93.9 percent passed the Math exam, 3.4 percent more than last year, and the second best passing rate in the district.

These preliminary scores reflect 10th grade students who took the exam for the first time. The test/scores are broken into Math and English sections.

The District’s overall math passing rate was 87.2 percent, an increase of 1.9 percent from last year. The districtwide passing rate in English increased by 0.8 points, bringing the first time passing rate to 82.4 percent.
