Local Volunteers of the Year Commended by County Supervisors

20 of the most hard working County volunteers were honored, including a few locals.

The outstanding community service contributions of 20 San Diego County residents were recognized by the County Supervisors as Volunteers of the Year on Wednesday morning.

They collectively volunteered for a total of 4,834 hours this year for various departments countywide.

“Our dedicated volunteers are the heart of many of our programs and services. Their motivation is not about money, but about purpose,” said Chairman Bill Horn.  “The hours, and in many cases, years, that these volunteers have worked both behind-the-scenes and up front is a true service that benefits and touches diverse community groups.”
